CAS 115
Central America is between Mexico and South America, and is made up of seven countries. Belize, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, and Panama. In CAS 115 we explore and learn about the different cultures in Central America. We have read articles, write essays, watch documentaries, and try the foods. Learning about the history about the countries is important and to know what the people were going through at that time. Understanding why people from Central American moved to the United States.
In this blog I will share my Academic work that I have made throughout the semester. I will also share current and past events that have happened in Central America. The reason for creating this space is to share the topics we learned during lectures and for people to learn about Central America culture. It is important to do this because many people don't know the history of Central America or the reason why many immigrant to the United States.
Exploring the pages throughout this blog you will find information about Central American culture. I will share pictures of Central America and El Salvador The academic work I will share will be about how the war in El Salvador affect its people. You will also find current and past events that have happened in Central America. Community events in Los Angeles for Central American families will also be found in this blog.

Culture
Central American is made up of many different beliefs, foods, and biodiversity.
Central American food has a mix of African, Spanish, and Indigenous ingredients and cooking techniques. Some popular dishes are Pupusas, Gallo Pinto, Chicken tameles, and Ceviche. Ingredients most popularly used in Central America are cassva, peanuts, chilli peppers, cocoa, pineapple, coconut, black and red beans.
The majority of people in Central America are Catholic, Protestantism, and Pentecostalism. Other religions that make up the population are Islam, Buddhism, and Judaism. Indigenous spiritual beliefs are also very big within households and mix in with other religions.
The most common used language is Spanish in Central American. It is spoken is all seven of the countries, expect in Belize English is their second official language. The Spanish in Central American sounds different when spoken because of its dialects. Other language spoken are Mayan, Miskito, Garifuna, Kriol, Mekatelyu, Nicaragua Creol.
Central Americas diverse climate and geological ecosystem is home to a large number of plants and animals. It holds 5-12% of the planets biodiversity and is one of the top five diverse regions for vascular plants. It has tropical climate, with its lowlands being more humid and tropical while its mountains are more cooler and drier.
